Sailing school

The Navarra Sailing School has been based at Camping Aritzaleku for more than 15 years. It operates from the shore of the reservoir and the campsite itself, using its facilities to introduce everybody to sailing in its simplest form, dinghy sailing The wind conditions on the Alloz reservoir are exceptional for windsurfing and dinghy sailing. The light winds in the morning for the little ones and the middling winds in the afternoon are ideal to teach our courses and obtain the best results.

Camping Aritzaleku has always endeavoured to adapt and improve its facilities in order to provide both those learning with the Sailing Federation and those camping at the site who want to learn or simply enjoy this thrilling sport with the best possible service.

But if in addition to learning, you want to live the experience and learn more at your leisure, then the ideal thing to do is enjoy a few days at the different facilities we make available to our campers through our pleasant, comfortable range of accommodation, which you can see by following this link http://www.escuelanavarradevela.com/

The fleet of sailing dinghies -Raqueros, Vauriens, Lasers, Optimists for the littluns- caters for different levels, from absolute beginners to advanced sailors out to perfect their skills for racing. The entire cycle not only for sailing but, thanks to the favourable wind conditions on the reservoir, also for windsurfing, which beginners can learn on Fun boards until they gain control and are able to enjoy winds of up to force 4.

EVERYTHING YOU CAN DO IN THE CAMPING SITE AND SURROUNDINGS

One of the activities you can try on the Alloz reservoir, on whose shores the campsite sits, is sailing. Whether you want to learn or already know, the services of the Navarra Sailing School, which operates on the reservoir, are at your full disposal.

The campsite has its own jetty, so you can stay at a campsite with all the amenities and enjoy sailing all in the same place. The Sierras of Andía and Urbasa (home to the source of the Urederra river) delimit the mountainous north of Middle Navarra and surround the village of Riezu , the source of the Ubagua river, which flows into the Alloz reservoir. An area with a wealth of natural beauty.

From Puente La Reina (where the routes join) to Estella, the Way of St James marks its historical and artistic significance with beautiful examples of Gothic and Romanesque architecture, such as the Cloister of the Monastery of Iranzu in Abárzuza.

Estella-Lizarra was founded in 1090 due to the need to attend the growing influx of pilgrims from all over Europe on their way to Santiago. Important examples of Romanesque (San Pedro Cloister in the Church of San Pedro) Gothic (façade of El Santo Sepulcro, Convent of Santo Domingo) and Plateresque architecture enrich a remarkably cultural city.

Middle Navarra is the home of great wine and tasty, varied cuisine, based on local products.
